Paul Reed Smith – 1994 McCarty – REAL ’54 P90s

Paul Reed Smith – 1994 McCarty – REAL ’54 P90s

Third McCarty ever made!

In stock

"When the first run of McCartys we’re going to be made , I was able to buy number 3 . They were the first PRS to have a wider mahogany body and McCarty pickups. I had a pair of original LP pickups ; a P-90 bridge and rectangular magnet Alinico -5 from a Les Paul with a broken neck . I bought them at a vintage show just prior to the McCarty run . I had those installed instead of the humbuckers , as that’s what would have been in the original LPs . Homage to Ted . It’s the only one of the first 100 with different pickups. It later became the prototype for the highly sought after McCarty soapbar model . Ted signed the backplate, which is included, as is the PRS book in which it appears . Besides being a great sounding and playing piece, it’s also a serious piece of guitar history . ( PRS and Ted McCarty collaboration) An adjustable stop tail is included , plus Paul will write a letter authorizing it. “
