The Fender American Vintage '64 Telecaster takes you back to a time of change. Social upheaval and the British invasion were in full swing, and Fender's '64 Telecaster was in the thick of it. Thick maple necks were morphing into a rounded C-shaped profile, now capped with a round-laminate rosewood fingerboard. A lightweight alder body replaced the ash slabs of yesteryear, and staggered bridge pickup pole magnets, threaded-steel-barrel bridge saddles, and 3-ply white pickguards were the order of the day. For pure, unadulterated '60s Tele vibe, pick up Fender's American Vintage '64 Telecaster.

Meticulous vintage accuracy graces this guitar

For the American Vintage '64 Telecaster, Fender tracked down several of the original '64s and exhaustively analyzed them to ensure a painstaking level of vintage accuracy. Every facet of the original instruments - including minute details such as curves, perimeters, radii and more - was examined, measured, evaluated, and ultimately incorporated into the American Vintage '64 Tele. What you see in this remarkable guitar is more than the sum of its parts. It's a highly playable, eminently musical-sounding re-creation of an iconic instrument that changed music forever.

Beauty, tone, and playability

With Fender's American Vintage '64 Telecaster, there's genius in the details. This remarkable guitar's beauty, tone, and playability are no accident. It starts with the lightweight alder body, the classic 3-ply white pickguard, and a thin Fender Flash Coat nitrocellulose lacquer finish. Then, there's the highly playable C-profile maple neck with its round-lam rosewood fingerboard and 21 vintage-style frets, staggered bridge pickup pole magnets, threaded-steel-barrel bridge saddles, top-hat switch tip, flat-top, knurled chrome control knobs, and more. If you're a fan of '60s Teles, the Fender American Vintage '64 Telecaster is one drool-worthy axe.
